Pride Humility Christlike Jesus Prayer

Stumbling Over My Pride

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time. (1 Peter 5:6)

Lord, it’s really that simple.  You must become greater in me and I must become less.  I see how often my pride gets in the way of Your work.  And I’m truly sorry for that.  Even in these last few days, I can think of a few conversations where I stumbled over my pride.  It can get ugly at times!  I pray that You will help me overcome my pride.

Lord, may I remember that I’m a servant.  Here to serve You.  Here to do Your will!  Here to advance Your purpose.  I am not my own.  I was bought with a price.  You paid the price for my sins.  You redeemed me from the pit of Hell.

Lord, may I daily live to honor the sacrifice made on my behalf.  May I not live to please myself or the desires that I have.  But may I live to please You and seek Your desires.  Oh God, my King.  My refuge and my strength.  I pray that I will remember the truth of John 3:30, “Jesus must become GREATER in me and I must become less.”  I live to please You O Lord.  I live to bring You praise!

Lord, please continue to scrape out every ounce of me and my sinful ways and fill me up with more of You.  Please replace my pride with a spirit of humility.  I pray that I will be Your humble servant and that I will live to please You.

Read more of this in John 3:22-36.
