Our Statement of Faith

What We Believe

There is only one true and living Holy God. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, eternally existent in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God and coequal; referred to as the Trinity.

About God

God, as Father is the Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer of the universe. He reigns with absolute sovereignty and providential care being, all loving, all-knowing, and all-wise.

About Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God coequal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people through His shed blood on the cross. He was risen from the grave defeating death and ascended to Heaven’s glory. He will return again one day in power and glory to rule the earth as King of Kings.

About The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also indwells every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living life with purpose, understanding the Bible, and guidance in making right decisions. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

About the Bible

The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God written by human authors who were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. It is the authoritative source document of truth for Christian living and beliefs.  Because God inspired the Bible, the original writings are without error. While we prefer the NIV84 translation, other Scripture translations may be used and found throughout our website.

About People

Each human life is sacred from conception. We are the supreme object of God’s creation, made in His image, to be like Him in character and meant to live forever. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by sin which leads to death. Sin is disobedience towards God and causes many problems in life. Our sinful nature, which we are born with, separates us from having a right relationship with our Creator. This sin problem began with Adam and Eve.

Jesus said, “at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife…’ ” We believe the Bible is clear on the definition of marriage.

About Salvation

Salvation is God’s solution to our sin and death problem. The sole basis for the forgiveness of our sin is through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. Because God loves each person so much, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for all people. We can restore our relationship with a Holy God, our Creator by accepting His solution. It is a free gift. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s ultimate penalty which is eternal separation from God. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. We are saved and have salvation when we place our faith (confessing with our mouth and believing in our heart) in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (the only way, truth, and life) as sufficient payment for our sin. The Holy Spirit will now help us turn from our self-ruled life. Eternal life with God has now begun with the indwelling of the Eternal Spirit of God. We believe water baptism by immersion is in obedience to the command of Christ following salvation.

About Eternity

God made people to live forever! We will either be eternally with God in Heaven through forgiveness and salvation in Jesus Christ or we will be eternally separated from God in Hell because of our sins and rejection of Jesus Christ. God gives each person choice or free will to decide. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal physical existence. The Bible teaches that for the Christian, to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ! Heaven is a place of no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. Hell is a place of continual torment with fire, originally designed for Satan and his demons.

About The Christian Life

God wants a relationship with us! With the Holy Spirit living within, Christians can and should walk out their lives in power, love, and with a sound mind. Spending daily time with God in prayer and in the Bible helps us grow closer to God. By being obedient to the Word of God and yielding to the Spirit each of us will mature, and being conformed to the image of God. By taking each thought captive and making it obedient to Christ, we can overcome the daily struggles of our sinful nature.  We have direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God. God’s plan in helping us grow includes community. It includes a local Bible believing church of which Jesus Christ is the head. Followers of Jesus Christ should join such a local church where they can learn, grow, serve, worship, disciple, fellowship, study, and do life together with other like-minded people. Finally, as Christians we are called to love one another. As Jesus commanded, we are expected to “Go and make disciples.” This means we must be intentional with our relationships with one another.
