For God’s Glory

When he heard this, Jesus said, This sickness will not end in death.  No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.  Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.  Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was for two more days.  (John 11:4-6)

Lord, please help me to remember that Your timing is perfect.  That sometimes the waiting is just another way to reveal who You are and bring You glory.  Lord, may I find joy in the waiting knowing that You have a purpose through it all.  Please increase my faith through my current obstacle.  Help me to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).  May I not lose sight of all that You can and will do through every difficult situation that I face.

Lord, please help me to honor You through my waiting time and cling to the promises I have in Your Word.  May I run to Your Truth and find safety in the shadow of You, the Almighty!  May I trust in Your unfailing love, Your perfect plan, and Your beautiful work in my life.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Read more of this in John 11:1-16.
