God is First Jesus Devotional Lauren Daigle

Rock Solid

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

STAND FIRM: Take a stand for what you believe in today!  Let God be the rock that you stand on and on that rock stand firm.  That’s right the Bible says, “stand firm.”  Do not back down from the Truth that is revealed in God’s Word!  Stand firmly for the things of God and let people around you know the Truth in LOVE!

NOTHING: “Let nothing move you.”  The world wants to move you in all sorts of directions, but God wants to move you in only ONE direction; His direction.  This part of the verse is saying don’t be moved by all the things that don’t matter.  Take the time to examine the things in your life that aren’t Christ centered.  Anything that is not Christ centered is not moving you in God’s direction.  Do a little housekeeping in your life.   Is there anything that is collecting dust in your life?  Is there anything cluttering the shelves of your mind?   You’ll be able to see the road ahead when you take care of the things that don’t belong in your life or your mind.

FULLY: Looking into God’s Word you will find many words that depict what God expects from His people.  “ALWAYS give yourselves FULLY…”  always and fully, what great words to help Christians understand that on a daily basis we are to wake up with an expectancy to put our best foot forward.  Do you give your best to God every day?  Did you wake up this morning with an attitude that said you would live to your fullest for God?  If not, it’s time to rethink things!  Reread the verse above and see how you can apply it to your own life.

Dear Father God, I pray I will be able to stand firm on the things I learn in Your Word.  May I not let anything move me!  I desire to only walk in Your ways.  May I give myself fully to things of You on a daily basis, knowing that all work done in Your name is never in vain.

Standing Firm,

Great quote by Jim Elliot. He had so many great quotes.
My favorite is “Wherever you are, be all there.”
Thank you for sharing your quote with me. I will add it to my favorites by Jim Elliott, a man who lived a Rock Solid life for God.

May God continue to bless you on your journey with Him,
      Sarah

    Dear Sarah,

I ran across your blog while searching for “clay jars” to put in a PowerPoint presentation for a sermon/devotional that I am working on for the church. I have saved your blog to “favorites” and look forward to move visits to read your devotionals.

I was curious as to how you come about your photos as they are inspirational and I am thinking about using photography in my devotionals. Can you point me to resources that allow the use of their photos in blogs and sermon power points?

Thank you and may the Lord bless you and your ministry.

      Dear Keith,

I’m so blessed to hear that God is using this devotional in your life. Thank you for saving it to your favorites. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

I took a look at your blog and it looks like you are doing great things on it. May God continue you to use it to get His Word out.

Most of the pictures you will see on my blog have been taken by my husband or I. I used to use pictures from a Google search engine, but ran into some snags. So now I use all my own pictures. I would be happy to share them with you when you find ones you like. If you could simply place a link back to my site on the picture, then people will know where the picture came from. That would be great!

Let me know if I can help in any other way!

      Your Sister in Christ,
      Sarah
