Jesus is Risen

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.  (Matthew 28:5-6)

Lord, the greatest three words ever written in history are, “He is risen!”  It’s because of these three words that I can now experience life.  I have victory over death because You took on the grave for me.  You faced death for me and conquered it!  My sin held me captive.  My life was headed no where.  But You stepped in and saved me.  

Satan thought he had won.  I’m sure he was throwing a party as You laid in that grave for three days. But his party was interrupted as the stone was rolled away and the angel declared, “He is not here; he is risen, just as he said.”  Wow, I love those words Lord.  Just as you said!  That is so important for me to remember.  

You always come through on Your promises.  You promised to conquer death and You did.  You promise to give me life to the full and You do.  You promise that my home is not here!  You promise that I have a place of no pain or sorrow awaiting me.  Heaven will be my eternal destination. Heaven will be my final resting place.  All because of three words, “He is risen”.  My Lord has risen from the grave.  Death could not hold him bound.  He is alive!  My Redeemer lives!
