The Power of Grace

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)

One incredible thing I continue to learn through my boys is the power of grace. I can tell you that on a daily basis I need them to offer me grace. I have seen these sweet little boys offer grace with a kiss for my boo boos, I’ve seen grace through their hugs after I’ve said I’m sorry, I see grace through them forgiving me quickly and wanting to enjoy the next moment with me. They continue to reflect to me the grace that my Father offers me.

God does not hold my sin against me. He’s not looking to punish me. He put the punishment of my sins on Jesus Christ. Where judgment is deserved, I receive grace. God gives me His umerited favor and freely lavishes it on me. That continues to dumbfound me. God loves us! Wow, that is a thought that should daily amaze us.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:11-12)

I’m so thankful that the moment I gave my life to Jesus is the exact moment I started receiving grace. It was not something I had to earn. It wasn’t something I had to work for. It wasn’t my deeds that got me grace. It was God’s unmerited favor freely lavished on me because of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

If you don’t know Jesus and haven’t received the power of forgiveness for your sins, please let me know. I would love the opportunity to pray with you and give you tools to equip you for the journey in Christ. I promise this world can’t give you a glimpse of all that God offers through His mercy and grace. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. (Ephesians 2:8-10, AMP)

Lord, I continue to reflect on the grace that you so lavishly poured out on my life. Please help me to dispense this grace to others. May I not look at where people have wronged me or search for their faults but may I focus on the grace that has so lavishly been poured out on my life. I pray that I will dispense grace more freely today!
