Potter’s Wheel

Yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)

This verse presents a magnificent picture when you take the time to think about it.  Sure a clump of clay is just a clump of clay, until the potter goes to work on it.  Imagine what the Grand Canyon would have looked like without God going to work on it. He designed every inch.  Or think of Niagara Falls, a splendid display of water gushing in all it’s glory.  What about the Great Barrier Reef? Read more

Who Needs Blueprints?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. (Psalm 37:3)

This week, I want to share something near and dear to my heart with you.  I want to share some chapters from my book Life’s Compass for Eternal Treasure.  The second edition of this book was released on June 24th this year, but due to the craziness of life I have not been able to share it with you.  This new edition includes a great study guide that you can use as an individual or with a group.  To celebrate the new release of this book, I will be doing a BOGO sale.  If you can show me proof of purchase for one book, I will send you one for a friend.  There are a few ways you can purchase books.  The easiest way to get the BOGO sale is to purchase straight from my personal bookstore.  If you would rather purchase from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or any other online bookstore that is fine too.  Please just send me an email with proof of purchase and your address and I will be happy to send you a book for a friend. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails. (Proverbs 19:21, MSG)

Read Proverbs 11 today!

I want to admit something to you!  I have control issues!  I want to control a good amount of my life, but the more I learn about God the less I feel that’s possible.  Yes, I can control my health, I can control the food I eat on a daily basis, I can control how much I exercise, and a few other things.  But if I want to be a wise person… I must surrender control of my life to God.  I must stop trying to plan my course.  I need to hand my steps over to the Lord.  Only God knows where my life is going or how to make the most of it! Wisdom Tidbits

Here is just a small taste of what we are going to find in the Proverbs…

1.  A Further Trust in God’s Work

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

~Proverbs 3:5-6

Living by Faith

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.  As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”  When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”  And as they went, they were cleansed.  (Luke 17:11-14)

Dear Father God, I have really come to appreciate the three words “as they went”.  It was as the 10 lepers walked out their faith that they received the miracle.  It was as they were going on with life that they experienced something that would forever change them.  Lord, please help me to remember that life doesn’t stop when things are tough.  Life keeps right on going.  But it’s when I put feet to my faith that I see huge answers to prayer.
