One Child Loved

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ (Matthew 19:14)

Today I want to continue with the time line I began last week on my life.  It’s all in the “Celebration of Life” series.  The time line begins on…

June 24th, 1978 ~ The day my parents were married.  I celebrate the day my parents united their lives because it brought the gift of five wonderful lives into this world.  The lives of myself and my siblings.

June 14th, 1979 ~ The day I was born.  My parents chose life.  I celebrate all the wonderful memories they have given me and continue to give me.

July 17th, 1980 ~ The day my brother Caleb was born.  I celebrate the gift of having a great brother and the wonderful names our parents gave us.

Bungee Jumping for Jesus

Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. (Genesis 5:24)

Today I had the opportunity to hear about someone who has bungee jumped off of the second highest bridges in America.  It is called The New River Gorge Bridge and it is located in West Virginia.  The bridge is mammoth in size.  It’s length measures 3,030 feet and it’s height is 876 feet.  I was quite impressed by everything I heard.  Then I heard even more.  This person rock climbs, rolls down hills in big ball type things, climbs big mountains, and water skis on one ski.  There were a few other things that were mentioned, but by this point I was too awe struck to remember.

Sheer Brilliance

…His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.  His splendor was like the sunrise:  rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. (Habakkuk 3:3-4)

I have lived through almost 11,000 sunrises and sunsets.  That’s pretty incredible!  I don’t know how old you are or where God has you right now, but take a moment to think about how many sunrises and sunsets you’ve lived through.  I’m not talking about the ones you’ve been able to see, I’m talking about the ones you’ve lived through.  I have been alive for almost 11,000.

Last week, I started a “Celebration of Life” series.  I will be turning 30 in June and have been looking back through my time on this earth.  God has been so good to me!  I’m not saying that life has always been good, but I am saying God has been good!  Life has been hard at times!  In fact, it’s been down right difficult, but God has been extremely faithful!  That is the one thing that I want to share with you throughout my series on the “Celebration of Life.”  God will always be faithful!  He will not fail us!

Beauty in the Master’s Hands

Yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)

Today, I continue to celebrate the moments in life God has given me.  I want to share with you an email I received a couple years ago.  I was reminded this week that there have been times in my life where the fire has gotten really hot and no matter how hot that fire gets, God is still in control.  The process can be difficult at times, but the masterpiece God is creating is well worth it!   I hope this story ministers to your heart, as you relate it to your own life.

There was a couple who took a trip to England to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.  They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups…

What’s in a Name?

Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years old or more who came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly. (Numbers 32:11-12)

Today I continue with the “Celebration of Life” series.  I’ll begin where I left off.

June 24th, 1978 ~ The day my parents got married.

June 14th, 1979 ~ The day I was born.

To read more about these events and the beginning of my life, you can go to the devotional titled “Wonderfully Made.”  God wants us to celebrate every moment and that is why I’m taking the time to go back over the moments I’ve been given in the last 30 years.  Another great moment for me came on July 17th, 1980, the day my brother Caleb Ray Lindberg was born.  True, I don’t remember much about that day, but I do remember many moments since that day which involve my brother.
