The Rewards of Following God

Read Proverbs 25 today!

All throughout Proverbs we see that God promises to bless those who fear Him, those who choose wisdom, and walk uprightly before Him.  These are the kind of people that enjoy the abundant life that Jesus talked about in John 10:10 which says,

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Those who fear the Lord and choose wisdom are able to face each day with courage, no matter what the challenge.  They are able to forget the past and look forward to the future with joy!  Others around them recognize this work in them as a work of God!  Can people see that work in you?  Let’s take a look at some of the rewards of living faithfully for the Lord.

Top 10 Rewards for Following God

1.  You will be able to look to the future with confidence!

“Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.”  (Proverbs 3:25-26)

I Run to the Lord

Read Proverbs 12 today!

To tell you the truth… I’m not really into the running part of this verse.  I like the “you are safe” part.  I don’t really enjoy running.  I enjoy a good brisk walk, but not a run.  But this verse tells me to run… to Run… TO RUN!  I have the ability to run to God.  He gives me the strength to move forward.  He wants me to realize that I can’t do anything on my own.  I do not have what it takes to survive without God.  He wants me to come running to the grace that saved me… to the love that set me free.  He wants me to run to the promises found in His Word.  He wants me to come with all my garbage and lay it down at His feet (the only place where my garbage is safe).

God does not ridicule me for not have everything perfect in life.  He never gets fed up with me!  He never stops loving me!  He never stops being a strong tower that I can run to!  He is God and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for me, so that I can experience true life.  I have a relationship with my Father because Jesus laid down His life for my sins.  I no longer have to shed my blood or the sacrifice of an animal to please God.  Jesus took my place!  He laid down His life.  He made it possible for me to have the freedom to run to God.

Cast My Cares

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. (Psalm 55:22)

Worry Free in Jesus

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat;  or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and you Father knows that you need them. (Luke 12:22-30) Read more

No Limits to His Love

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Annie Johnson Flint has a remarkable story of her love for God and her dedication to live her life for Him during some very difficult times.  I encourage you to read Annie’s story.  Annie did not let the difficult things of life weigh her down.  She did not give up hope, she never gave into circumstances, and she always knew God would see her through.  Her poems can be found at Blessed Quietness .  And her story can be found at the following link Annie’s Biography .  I promise that you will not be wasting your time by checking out either link or both.  I tend to go back to Annie’s poems as often as possible and I am encouraged by her steady stand in the Lord.  She did not waiver.  The poem below reminds us that God’s grace is enough!  His grace will always be enough.  May you stand in that truth today!
