I Run to the Lord
Read Proverbs 12 today!
To tell you the truth… I’m not really into the running part of this verse. I like the “you are safe” part. I don’t really enjoy running. I enjoy a good brisk walk, but not a run. But this verse tells me to run… to Run… TO RUN! I have the ability to run to God. He gives me the strength to move forward. He wants me to realize that I can’t do anything on my own. I do not have what it takes to survive without God. He wants me to come running to the grace that saved me… to the love that set me free. He wants me to run to the promises found in His Word. He wants me to come with all my garbage and lay it down at His feet (the only place where my garbage is safe).
God does not ridicule me for not have everything perfect in life. He never gets fed up with me! He never stops loving me! He never stops being a strong tower that I can run to! He is God and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for me, so that I can experience true life. I have a relationship with my Father because Jesus laid down His life for my sins. I no longer have to shed my blood or the sacrifice of an animal to please God. Jesus took my place! He laid down His life. He made it possible for me to have the freedom to run to God.
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)
Will you drop what’s hindering you? Will you run to the Lord? Come find safety in the arms of God. Know that you can find full protection in God. You can trust Him, He will not fail you! He has great things in store for you!
“He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.” (Proverbs 28:26)
“The horse is made ready for battle, but victory rests with the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:31)
Dear Father God, I come running to You! Lord, it’s not easy to run. Running stretches a few muscles I’m not use to stretching, but because You give me the strength to run… I will run with everything I’ve got… to You! I will run to the only place I find safety, to the only place my life is secure, to the only place I find strength… I will run because I know that You offer a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7). I run to get the Promise of that peace in my life and to rest secure in Your arms of love!
Running to the Lord,
