No More Clutter

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. (1 Peter 3:12)

There is a very strong message in these words, but we can’t fully appreciate them without hearing what Peter wants us to do before we get to this point.  Yes, we are called to live righteously before God and it is great news to hear that through this He is attentive to our prayers.  First, let’s go back a few verses where Peter begins to share with us some important truths of how to completely enjoy a righteous life with the Lord.

“Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.” (vs. 8 )

Your Lens

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)

Pray Until Something Happens

I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. (Psalm 17:6)

A man was sleeping one night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light.  The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.  The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this man did, day after day.

At the Bus Stop

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for him. (Lamentations 3:22-24)

I went to get my hair trimmed today by a new hair stylist.  The beginning of the conversation started out a little rough as she shared her story of moving to Florida from Colorado.  I shared that I have only been here for a little over a year.  She asked where I moved from and I shared that I moved from Minnesota. A Pebble

Drop a pebble in the water: just a splash, and it is gone;
