A Real Shot of Espresso

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1)

Who needs espresso when you have the love of God pouring into your life every day?  Every day I have my 2 cups of coffee in the morning.  I know some people can’t bare to go anywhere until they have had their coffee.  Some people need their energy drink. Last night I was reminded that True energy doesn’t come in a can, it can’t be bottled, or brewed in a pot.  True energy comes from God.  He is the One who wakes us up every morning with fresh air to breathe, a reason to live, and hope to survive on. God is Greater

…Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. ~1 John 4:4 (KJV)

I’m taking just a small break from the Psalm 119 series to share with you something that happened to me today.  When I got online to prepare my devotional for the day, I was greeted with an email that shared with me…my facebook account had been hacked into.  For those of you who don’t know what facebook is, just imagine you have a journal open to all your friends with pictures, comments, journal entries, etc.  Well, on this particular day, my facebook page had been hijacked.  My identity in cyber space had been stolen.  Someone was acting as if they were me and sending out very disgraceful messages and pictures on my behalf.  It was a huge spiritual attack.  The pictures were hideous and the words written were enough to make you cringe.  I tried desperately to get into my account, but my password had been changed, as well as my email and picture for my profile.  It was a mess!

A Workmanship in Progress

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

BY GRACE:

We have the privilege to be saved.  What an amazing thing!  God’s grace extends to every corner of the earth to each person and covers over a multitude of sins through His grace, which comes through His Son’s blood shed on the cross.  It’s so hard to comprehend this AMAZING GRACE, that God so freely gives and never asks for anything in return.

Gifts Inspired and ALWAYS Encouraged

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen. (1 Peter 4:10-11)

The Lord is so gracious in reminding me of the gifts He has given me and how precious those gifts are.  Yesterday, Paul and I flew to Hawaii and I was sitting back in awe of God again at all that He has done.  Paul is always like a little boy in a candy shop when we are on a plane, even though he’s a pilot, he just can’t seem to get enough of the air.  It’s quite exhilarating to watch.  God truly has given him the desires of his heart by allowing him to work in his passion and allowing me to travel with him.

Do you have an ANSWER?

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1 Peter 3:15)

This morning started out early, as Paul and I headed out to the airport.  Everything was going fine…we got to the airport, got our tickets, got our luggage checked, and…  Oh, here is where the “fine” takes a slight detour.  While in line for security, we realized we had been marked with the SSSS on our tickets!  We were going to have to go through the, oh too familiar extra security check!

Now granted, I have come to appreciate this check as it reminds me of the things that took place on September 11th, 2001.  I continue to be grateful for the men and women who are fighting to keep our nation safe from any more attacks.  So even if in this very moment I have to feel inconvenienced by a little security check, I’m ok.
