More than a Picture

I have told you all this so that you may have ‘peace’ in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. (John 16:33, NLT)

Perfect Peace

God always brings perfect peace to our lives!

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.

But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest … perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize?

The King chose the second picture.

Do you know why?

“Because,” explained the King, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

My life is a lot like the second picture in this story.  Just when I think I’m about to get a break, the storm clouds start to form, the lightning strikes, and the rain starts to pour.  Not to worry though, God is there to provide His perfect peace.  There is no storm, no cloud, no lighting strike, and no amount of rain that can keep God from being Master over my life!  He is Lord!  In fact God has promised His peace which passes all understanding.  May God’s peace be constant in your life!

Dear Father God, Thank You for Your peace that passes all understanding!  I rest in knowing that You are in control.  My life is in Your hands!

Thankful for God’s Perfect Peace,
Sarah

Why are you here?

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, KJV)
You are here…
For God’s glory.
Have you ever wronged someone? Has someone ever needed to hear you ask for forgiveness? Then you have sinned.
Which means you have wronged God since He created you.
Sin is what separates us from a relationship with God because God is Holy.
Sin must be paid for.
Jesus, God’s Son paid the price for our sins! Why? Because God loves us and wants a relationship with us.
All religions ask YOU to pay for your sin, except for Christianity!
You can’t EVER be good enough to pay for your sin.
Its not about your good deeds. Its about Jesus and who He is and what He did for you.
If you accept the FREE gift of God, of Jesus’ blood, as payment for your sins than you can have a restored relationship with God.
It’s so simple.
Jesus, God’s Son, died on a cross for you and me and everyone, 2009 years ago, so WE don’t have to pay for our own sins.
Why? Because God loves us! God is Love!
It’s about a relationship! God wants you to know Him personally!
Its not about do’s and don’ts.
This is Christianity! Christianity is relationship, not religion!
God gave us a user manual for life….it’s called the Bible.
In it you can read about Jesus’ life and so much more!
Each of us are here for a reason! Don’t forget that! God has a specific plan for your life!
Life on earth is just the beginning.
Life on earth is short…but there is more!
There is life after death.  Will it be with God or separated from God?
It will be with God forever if you accept His free gift of Jesus’ payment for your sins through His blood and not yours.
God Wants You!
Will you accept His free gift as a start to getting to know Him?
Will you ask God to forgive you for your sins?
Will you realize there is more to this life?
Have a conversation with God! Talk with Him! He wants a relationship with you!
Don’t forget His manual. Get to know Him through the Bible!
Ask Him to give you understanding and wisdom….He will!
So why are you here? Well, ultimately it’s for God’s glory. It’s about Him.
Look at Creation! Look at the stars, the universe, the sea, the human body, trees, mountains, etc.
For every design there is a designer!
Don’t choose to throw God away. He is there waiting for you!
God has a plan for you! Get to know Him! Remember sin must be paid for! God paid the price with His Son Jesus!
An everlasting life of joy, contentment, peace, understanding, forgiveness, hope, and love.
It all BEGINS with Jesus in YOUR life!
Dear Father God, Thank You for sending Your Son to die for my sins, so I might live in eternity with You.  Please help me to be aware of those who are around me who need to know Your saving grace.  May I reach out in love to them and help them know Jesus too!

Jars of Clay

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Corinthians 4:7, NIV)

What is the treasure hidden inside the jars of clay?  Why would God use jars of clay to hide treasure?  Does God’s power hold the jars together?  Is God’s power holding you together?  Let’s explore the answers to these questions and find out how great our God is!

Treasure ~ thesauros” in the Greek

God’s Tool Box

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. (1 Corinthians 3:9)

The Carpenter’s Tools

Author Unknown, Source Unknown
Brother Hammer served as the chairman. The other members of the tool belt informed him that he must leave, because he was too noisy. But brother Hammer said, “If I have to leave this carpenter’s shop, then brother Gimlet must go too. He’s insignificant and makes a very small impression.” (A gimlet is a small tool with a screw point, grooved shank, and a cross handle for boring holes).

Little brother Gimlet arose and said, “Alright, but brother Screwdriver must go also. You have to turn him around and around to get anywhere with him.”

God never lets go!

God never let’s go!

Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.
