Steps of Faith

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

FAITH! A word we so often come in contact with as Christians, but seldom do we actually put it into practice.  Faith is a confident belief in the truth, value, and trustworthiness of God! We know that God will come through, not because the circumstances around us say so, but because God has been and always will be faithful.  He assures us of that time and time again in His Word.

Even when we can’t see around the corner of a mountain when we’re driving, we still take the corner. Even though we don’t know who builds the bridges we cross, we still cross them. There are many situations where we have to use faith to move forward. Will we apply that faith to our walk in Christ? Will we take the next step in faith knowing that He ultimately knows the way?

Do you have enough faith to take the next corner with God?  Trust that HE has wonderful things in store for you!  He won’t let you down!

Lord, I pray that you will increase my faith, so I may see things through Your eyes. My hope is in You, all that I have and all that am is in YOU! May I take the next corner in faith, trusting that You know what’s next!

Looking forward to what’s around the corner,

Eternal Ink

He answered, ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” (Luke 10:27)

ETERNAL INK

(The actual account of a dream)

by Craig F. Pitts

I dreamed I was in heaven
Where an angel kept God’s book.
He was writing so intently
I just had to take a look.

It was not, at first, his writing
That made me stop and think
But the fluid in the bottle
That was marked ETERNAL INK.

Super Bowl Moments

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21

I’m sure many of you watched the Super Bowl on Sunday.  The truth is many of us watch it for different reasons.  I watched it with some friends.  Friends who happen to enjoy the commercials and the game.  The Super Bowl to me is all about enjoying the camaraderie of those your with.  It’s an opportunity to just kick back and share time with friends.  Yes, the commercials were funny.  The half time show was very bright and lively.  I enjoyed the fact that it was more of a show this year, than just a singer.  But the one thing I enjoyed the most….  Drum roll please!   Can anyone guess?

When God Ran

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8)

What’s God doing in your life?

It’s Monday again and it’s time to reflect on God’s faithfulness.  How did you see God come through for you this last week?  How was God faithful to you?  Did God show you something new?  I would enjoy hearing how God is working in your life.  Drop me a line!

Heart Check

Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. (Matthew 6:1)

It’s so interesting that Jesus just got done sharing 9 steps to a life of righteousness and now He moves on to a warning. Jesus examines the motives behind three common acts among the Jews. He talks this over with the disciples because He wants to make sure the motives of their hearts are right. It’s great to know the steps of a righteous life, but we also need to understand the attitude behind it to do it well. Let’s take a look at the next three items and see what kind of attitude we should exhibit.

1. Giving to the Needy (vs. 1-4)

Now it’s very important to stop and look at the first verse. The verse from above. God’s not going to strike you dead if your attitude is wrong. He’s not going to hate you or turn His back on you. The thing that will happen is that if you seek your reward on this earth, then you simply will not receive it in Heaven. What’s more important to you? A temporary reward here on earth that lasts maybe a moment or an eternal reward that lasts forever! I can guarantee you the eternal reward will well worth the wait.
