Avoiding Big Mouth Syndrome

Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  (Ephesians 5:15-16)

I want to thank many of you for reaching out to me to check in and make sure I’m ok.  I know I have concerned a few of you with the burden of my heart that I have shared in a couple posts. I Stand Forgiven

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:11-12

As I celebrate my birthday, I think of how much God has done in my life and how much I’ve been forgiven for.  I’m blessed to be a child of God, living for a Kingdom purpose, with Jesus Christ as my fixed point of reference, and the Holy Spirit as my constant guide.  Yesterday, I turned 36 years old.  I celebrate the many years that God has given me knowing Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior.  Truly nothing in life has ever compared to this!  So as I sat and reflected on these thoughts I wrote the following devotional.  I hope you enjoy it!

Strangely Dim

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:2-3)

Jesus Died for Me

Who believes what we’ve heard and seen? Who would have thought God’s saving power would look like this?

2-6 The servant grew up before God—a scrawny seedling,
a scrubby plant in a parched field.
There was nothing attractive about him,
nothing to cause us to take a second look.
