The Light in Me

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

The Lord is my Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness

for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil,

Just Wait

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10)

Lately, I have been hearing two words from the Lord…  “Just wait…”  I would love for Him to finish that sentence.  Let me know what I’m waiting for, how long should I wait, and when can I be done waiting!  Waiting is not my strong suit.  But this is where God has me.  I continue to go to Him on many things and the answer continues to be, “Just wait…”

Really, that’s it!  Just wait!  I would love a little more information please, but it’s not coming.  Not at this time!  God has a plan and I’m sure it’s incredible.  I will have to wait, as only He knows what’s best.

A Joyful Jumpstart

Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again:  Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

This is just one of the verses I enjoy starting my day with.  I determined a little while ago that before I open my eyes to what the day has, I will choose to be joyful over my day.  I will choose to find joy in my experiences.  I will choose to find joy in the tough times.  I will choose to find joy even when what God’s doing doesn’t make sense to me!  I choose to have a joyful day!

Why don’t you try this out and see if it works for you?  Tomorrow morning, before you open your eyes to a brand new day.  Repeat two or three verses of joy to yourself.  Declare that you will have joy in the day that God has provided for you!  Here are a few verses to get you started.

“This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
