Wonderfully Made

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13-16)

In just a little over a month, I will be celebrating my 30th Birthday.  I have been taking a look back over my years on this earth and I’ve been celebrating the moments that God has given me.  I have so much to be grateful for and so much that I want to share with you.  In the next 20 to 30 days, I will do my best to bring you the concise version of the 30 years of life God has given me.  I pray you will celebrate with me and in this journey through my life, may you too find an occasion to celebrate the life God has given you.

Even More Undignified

“I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes…”

~2 Samuel 6:22 (NIV)

Lately, I’ve been listening to a song over and over again thinking to myself what will it take for me to become “Even More Undignified” or as David put it “I will become even more undignified than this.”  The song is Undignified by David Crowder Band and here are some of the lyrics.

Undignified

I will dance.

I will sing.

To be mad

For my King

Nothing Lord is hindering

This passion in my soul.

Incurable Joy

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

This last week I was watching a show with Michael J. Fox in it called, “The Incurable Optimist” and a lot of it I wanted to apply to my Christian walk.  The world has some great ideas about hope, joy, and happiness.  I pray that we do not let them outshine us.  May we see what David wrote in the Psalms and apply it to our daily way of thinking.  May we wake up each morning and rejoice in the day God has given us.  Our days on this earth are numbered, the very breaths that we take have been given to us by God, and the opportunities we have to share the hope God has given us through Jesus Christ are slipping away.  We need to cease every opportunity we are given to share the hope that is within us and live with an incurable joy.  May the world look at us and see that we have a joy that can’t be shaken.

Brilliant Love

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

WITHOUT EXCUSE

God is so crazy about you and I, that He has made it impossible for us to deny and know who He truly is.  Everywhere we turn we are reminded that there is a Father in Heaven who loves and adores us.  Someone who has taken time to create animals, trees, ocean depths, mountain tops, stars above, galaxies, and human bodies.  The imagination cannot fathom all that God has created.  We are simply left with one conclusion…  THERE IS A GOD and you are not Him!

Lion and the Lamb

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.  The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw with the ox. (Isaiah 11:6-7)

Today I was on an airplane once again and it never fails the drama that unfolds between humans.  I see it in every direction.  I watch it as I enter the plane, I see it on the faces of the flight attendants, I see it with the passengers, I witness the security guards and how they interact with the hotel shuttle employees.  Sometimes it feels like I’m watching a Jerry Springer show unfold.  Drama, drama, drama!  Humans truly do not know how to get along sometimes.  No matter what we do, it seems like our needs always come first.  We don’t have the mentality of, “you come first” when we are on an airplane.  No, it’s more like “when can I get my snack, my drink, my pillow” or “when can I get off this plane.”  Everything is orientated around the “I” complex.  We live to serve ourselves while on these planes we fly.  We forget to serve others and it’s the same way in life.  We fly right by those who are in need of the love God pours into our lives on a daily basis.
