Lion and the Lamb

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.  The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw with the ox. (Isaiah 11:6-7)

Today I was on an airplane once again and it never fails the drama that unfolds between humans.  I see it in every direction.  I watch it as I enter the plane, I see it on the faces of the flight attendants, I see it with the passengers, I witness the security guards and how they interact with the hotel shuttle employees.  Sometimes it feels like I’m watching a Jerry Springer show unfold.  Drama, drama, drama!  Humans truly do not know how to get along sometimes.  No matter what we do, it seems like our needs always come first.  We don’t have the mentality of, “you come first” when we are on an airplane.  No, it’s more like “when can I get my snack, my drink, my pillow” or “when can I get off this plane.”  Everything is orientated around the “I” complex.  We live to serve ourselves while on these planes we fly.  We forget to serve others and it’s the same way in life.  We fly right by those who are in need of the love God pours into our lives on a daily basis.

While on the plane, I was dreaming about the day we will enter Paradise.  The day when we will be in Heaven and the animals will get along.  The lamb will sit next to the lion, the leopard will be in the same area as the goat, and the cow will feed with the bear.  Every animal together under one Kingdom.  In that place, we as humans will cease to have flaws and our tendencies to be “I” orientated will disappear.  We will live to be in awe of the Lord’s presence.  It will be all about Him and not about us.

May you find a way this week to share God’s love in a special way with someone you know, maybe even someone you have been disconnected with.  Please don’t let another day pass without sharing who Jesus is with someone you know who needs the gift of salvation!

Dear Father God, I look foward to the day when we will all be like You.  The day when sin will no longer exist, when peace will reign in Your Kingdom.  I look forward to seeing animals and humans walking alongside each other in perfect harmony.  I pray that while on this earth, I will learn how to walk in harmony with those who are around me.  May I share Your peace with those I come in contact with.

Gentle as a Lamb,

I know I have read the quote from Jesus about “The lion will lie down with the ram and the sound of killing and sorrow will be heard no more…” but I cannot find it on the net. I will have to re-read the Gospels. Can anyone shed light on this for me?

      Hi Michele,

I’m sorry it has taken me this long to respond to your comment. I have been offline for a while and am now trying to catch up. I hope you have found the answer to your question. If not, let me know and I will do some research.

      Have a blessed day!
