Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners– of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen. (1 Timothy 1:15-17)

I am enjoying this passage of Scripture a lot right now for a few reasons.  I would love to share those reasons with you and watch God do a work in your life.  He continues to amaze me and brighten my days with the very words He breathed life into.  I’m extremely grateful for the wisdom I develop through the constant study of God’s Word.  I pray this passage of Scripture reaches you like it has reached me.

Taste Buds

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have… (1 Peter 3:20)

This last week I was reminded of the power in this passage.  People are paying attention to every single move we make and every word we say.  It’s amazing how the smallest word or action can glorify God when done with the right attitude.  I was at the mall with my husband, shopping for a gift for a friend.  We were in one of the stores I had given my email address to.  The last time I was there I had given it to someone who was having a very bad day.  Now mind you the name on my email address is godizfaithful, so I tend to turn some heads.

Leave a Trail

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:8-11)

This is a very packed passage and I pray you find all the meaning in it for your own life, as I unfold the meaning of it in my own life.  I truly enjoy how the beginning starts.  God’s thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways.  Sometimes this is difficult to understand.  Like Ralph Waldo Emerson says, “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”  We would all rather follow the path that more footsteps have been on, the one that looks a little easier.

White Flag

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

At the Foot of the Cross

By:  Marcia Krugh Leaser, Source Unknown

Fearing the battle was over

And I’d already lost the war,

I was tired of trying and failing.

I just couldn’t fight anymore.

So, dragging my battle-scarred body,

I crawled to the foot of the cross.

And I sobbed.  ‘Oh please, Father forgive me.

But I tried…I tried.. and still lost.’

Then the air grew silent around me.

I heard his voice just as clear as the dawn:

‘Oh, My child, though you are tired and weary,

You can’t stop, you have to go on.’

I Wish

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know the love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.(Ephesians 3:17-19)

My wish for you today is that you understand the tremendous depth of God’s love for you and in this understanding may you live it out in ways that leave people wondering what you’ve got!   My prayer for you is that in understanding God’s love, you will find it’s okay to admit your shortcomings and know through your weakness God’s strength will me made perfect in you.  Here is the verse to remind you of exactly that…

“…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
