Jesus God devotional

I Wish

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know the love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.(Ephesians 3:17-19)

My wish for you today is that you understand the tremendous depth of God’s love for you and in this understanding may you live it out in ways that leave people wondering what you’ve got!   My prayer for you is that in understanding God’s love, you will find it’s okay to admit your shortcomings and know through your weakness God’s strength will me made perfect in you.  Here is the verse to remind you of exactly that…

“…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God’s grace is enough for you.  His grace is sufficient.  His power will be made perfect in your weakness.  We often get caught up in all the things that we are not, forgetting all the things that God IS!  It’s important to remember that God is strong, He is full of grace, full of forgiveness, full of goodness, and many more things that we fail to be.  We cannot be many things on a daily basis in our own strength, but through God’s strength we can certainly try.

This short story below was like a strong wind blowing me over by it’s convicting words.  I pray God uses these words in your life.

I Wish

I wish I were big enough honestly to admit all my shortcomings;

Brilliant enough to accept praise without it making me arrogant;

Tall enough to tower above deceit;

Strong enough to welcome criticism;

Compassionate enough to understand human frailties;

Wise enough to recognize my mistakes;

Humble enough to appreciate greatness;

Staunch enough to stand by my friends;

Human enough to be thoughtful of my neighbors;

And righteous enough to be devoted to the love of God.

My prayer is that I continue to understand the things of God, as they unfold before me and I become more like the One who created me.  May my life reflect less of this world and more like the One I read about in the Word of God.  I desire to live my life solely for the One who knows me best and I pray God continues to mold me in all the areas I have yet to learn about!

Dear Father God, I desire strongly to know You more and reflect Your image.  Please help me to be more like you and less like this world.  I pray that I will continue to understand the things of You, as they unfold before me and that I will follow You more wholeheartedly every day!

In Your Image,

      Windi,

      I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. I think it’s something we all need to be reminded of, but often want to ignore. I pray God continues to shine His light before you and that you find Him faithful in all that you face. Thank you for your comment!
