The Motions
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
Well, I had a great devotional ready for today. It was a perfect outline and really flowed well. But when I went to save it, it disappeared. So here I am stunned! What should I do now? The only thing I can think of is to offer a prayer up to the Lord. Yes, I could go back and rewrite my devotional but I think I will just write my heart to you instead.
Here is my prayer to God…

I watched a great movie the other night that taught me a good lesson from the Lord. It’s called “Moneyball”. Now there are some things in it that I don’t agree with, but for the most part this is a great movie with a message that can really challenge you, if you let it. I’m not going to share all the lessons I got from the movie because that would be enough to fill a book. Instead, I’m going to focus on the main lesson.
The theme throughout the movie was “To get on base”. The General Manager was putting together a winning Baseball team by looking at the stats of those who most often got on base. The goal was to create a team with the highest average on base.
