My Responsibility

Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him.  This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet:  ‘Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?’ (John 12:37-38)

Lord, please help me to remember that my responsibility is to be a witness for You.  To share the light of the Gospel through my words and actions.  I can’t force anyone to believe in You, that is on them.  May I just walk out my days for You and live to make You known through every step I take.

Righteous Anger

On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there.  He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple. (Mark 11:15-16)

Lord, please prune any part of me that is not bearing fruit for You.  May the transforming life of Christ pulsate through my very being as I cling to the nutrients found in the Source of life.

No More Grumbling

When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”  And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly.  When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner. (Luke 19:5-7, NASB)

Dear Father God, I’m so sorry for the times I have grumbled and complained when I have watched You work in others.  I’m sorry for my critical and judgmental spirit at times.  Lord, I pray that You will help me to be constantly aware of my own sin and my need for Christ.  May I not judge anyone around me but be thankful for the times when You are at work in others.
