Righteous Anger
On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple. (Mark 11:15-16)
Lord, please help me to remember not to sin in my anger. I see that you had a righteous anger as You saw people mistreat the temple. Lord, I pray that my anger will not be spurred by personal insults, rejection, petty frustrations, or minor irritations.
Lord, I pray that I will rise above the things that frustrate me. May I keep my eyes fixed on You! May I be more concerned about You and how You are represented in my life! I pray that I will take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. May I not let my thoughts run away from me. Lord, may I honor You with my emotions today!
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. ~Ephesians 4:26
