Holy Week

Then he said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.’ (Luke 17:19)

I would like to take the time to celebrate Holy Week a bit differently this year.  I want to break it down day by day and walk through it with you.  Let’s take a look at what many have come to know as the “Passion Week”.  The last week of Christ’s life on earth.  Let’s walk through this step by step and see what we find.  May this Easter be an Easter where we learn what it means to truly follow the One who went before us.  The One who gave His life for us!  Will you go with me to experience Christ in a new way?  Will you journey with me through Holy Week?  Let’s see what we can find through the Gospels and learn something new about this amazing Savior of ours.

One thing I want to explore is the Lord’s ministry to 10 lepers.  Here He is just days, even moments away from His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.  He is still busy about His Father’s work.  His days are full of activity.  He hasn’t slowed down one bit.  In this story, we find that the Lord was traveling between Samaria and Galilee.  He was on His way to Jerusalem.

Search and Rescue Mission

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. (Luke 15:7)

It’s time to go on a search and rescue mission?  Are you ready?

Easter is right around the corner and we are getting ready to celebrate the resurrection of our King.  I’m thinking the best way to celebrate this is to pray for that one lost sheep or possibly invite that one person to church.  Is there someone in your life who has been waiting for an invitation to church?  Most churches are packed on Easter.  They even offer extra services!  Now is the time to ask that extra friend or family member to church.  Now is the time to go on that search and rescue mission for that one who left the fold.  The one who went wandering off the path.

Brooklyn Bridge

Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

In 1883, a creative engineer named John Roebling was inspired by an idea to build a spectacular bridge connecting New York City with Long Island. However, bridge building experts throughout the world thought that this was an impossible feat and told Roebling to forget the idea. It just could not be done. It was not practical. It had never been done before.

Roebling could not ignore the vision he had in his mind of this bridge. He thought about it all the time and he knew deep in his heart that it could be done. He just had to share the dream with someone else. After much discussion and persuasion he managed to convince his son Washington, an up and coming engineer, that the bridge in fact could be built.

Working together for the first time, the father and son developed concepts of how it could be accomplished and how the obstacles could be overcome. With great excitement and inspiration, and the headiness of a wild challenge before them, they hired their crew and began to build their dream bridge.

The Life Giver

I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

What’s God doing in your life?

Yes, it’s that time again!  Some of you have let me know that you enjoy this time.  This time to reflect back on all that God has done or is doing in your life.  I thoroughly enjoy reading how God has been faithful to you.  And I even enjoy the questions about how to handle the tough times with God.  The times that don’t make sense.  God’s faithfulness doesn’t always come neatly packaged.  So as you look back this week, can you see that God is still on the throne?  Can you see that He is still in control?  Can you see that your circumstances are not too big for God?  Can you see that quite possibly, He is working behind the scenes?  I would love to hear how God is working in your life!  Feel free to drop me a line and let me know how I can embrace this journey with you!

I missed writing to all of you this last week.  It was a busy week for me, as I watched my little brother graduate from Basic Training.  I enjoyed hearing all about his experience in the Army and watching him blossom into a man.  I’m so very proud of him and can’t believe that I have the distinct honor to be his sister!  I praise God daily for my siblings and all their accomplishments.  I’m so blessed to have 4 amazing brothers and sisters!  What are you praising God for today?

Heart for Jesus

…greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4, KJV)

May you find God faithful in your life this week.  And even more than that, may you choose to be faithful to God.  Faithfulness to God comes out of a heart that chooses to live daily for Him, despite what the circumstances may be.  Remember, that “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”  When you wake up in the morning, declare that this day will be for the Lord.  May you live it out for Him to the best of your ability.  Read this story about a little boy about to go into surgery and examine your heart today!

I Found Jesus There

“Tomorrow morning,” the surgeon began, “I’ll open up your heart…” “You’ll find Jesus there,” the boy interrupted.
