All I really needed to know I learned in KINDERGARTEN “Genesis”

I’ve been studying Genesis a lot lately and I continue to be amazed at what I find there.  I have studied it many times before, but God always finds a way to help me experience it in a new way.  I’m starting to get the feeling like this could be a book that sets you up for life.  Kind of like that old saying, “All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten.”  Yes, I feel it is very important to know the whole Bible and allow all of it to impact your daily life with the Lord.  Please don’t misunderstand me.

I simply want to draw some truths from Genesis to show you how exciting God’s Word can be.  It is vibrant, living, and active in our daily lives, if we allow it to be.  Sometimes we tend to make God’s Word complicated and forget to draw the meaning from it for our lives.  God wants us to seek His Truth, so we can be renewed daily in Him.  I pray you will take the time to read Genesis with me, at your own pace, as we embark on a journey to walk out God’s Word.

Sheer Brilliance

…His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.  His splendor was like the sunrise:  rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. (Habakkuk 3:3-4)

I have lived through almost 11,000 sunrises and sunsets.  That’s pretty incredible!  I don’t know how old you are or where God has you right now, but take a moment to think about how many sunrises and sunsets you’ve lived through.  I’m not talking about the ones you’ve been able to see, I’m talking about the ones you’ve lived through.  I have been alive for almost 11,000.

Last week, I started a “Celebration of Life” series.  I will be turning 30 in June and have been looking back through my time on this earth.  God has been so good to me!  I’m not saying that life has always been good, but I am saying God has been good!  Life has been hard at times!  In fact, it’s been down right difficult, but God has been extremely faithful!  That is the one thing that I want to share with you throughout my series on the “Celebration of Life.”  God will always be faithful!  He will not fail us!

What’s in a Name?

Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years old or more who came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly. (Numbers 32:11-12)

Today I continue with the “Celebration of Life” series.  I’ll begin where I left off.

June 24th, 1978 ~ The day my parents got married.

June 14th, 1979 ~ The day I was born.

To read more about these events and the beginning of my life, you can go to the devotional titled “Wonderfully Made.”  God wants us to celebrate every moment and that is why I’m taking the time to go back over the moments I’ve been given in the last 30 years.  Another great moment for me came on July 17th, 1980, the day my brother Caleb Ray Lindberg was born.  True, I don’t remember much about that day, but I do remember many moments since that day which involve my brother.
