Hope in the Lord

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

 If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness;
therefore you are feared.

All this for Me!

Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

The Lamb of God

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God
Who takes away our sin
He came the sinless Son of God
To cleanse our hearts within

He hung upon the blood-stained cross
Thinking of you and me
Dying like some hardened criminal
His body in agony

On the Way to the Cross

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Do you know someone who has yet to experience the message of the cross?  Can you be brave this week and invite them to your Easter service?  I pray each one of us will invite at least one new person to church this weekend.  Who can you invite?

No Hesitation

‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:19-20)

It seems that no matter how many times I read this passage of Scripture, it still amazes me.  There was no hesitation!  There was no questioning!  The men simply left their nets to follow Jesus.  There have been many times in my life where God has asked me to drop my nets and follow Him.  But I have to be honest, most of the time I’m not ready to drop everything.  I tend to want to figure things out and ask a lot of questions.  I want the where, when, how, and why of the situation.  I want it all.  Often, all I get is “Just come follow me!”
