In You, O Lord, do I put my trust and seek refuge; let me never be put to shame or [have my hope in You] disappointed; deliver me in Your righteousness! Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily! Be my Rock of refuge, a strong Fortress to save me!
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
This is one of my favorite verses from the sermon on the mount. It speaks to the truth inside all of us. We all hunger for something beyond what anything in this world can satisfy. At times we might try to satisfy that hunger with temporary things or people, but eventually we come to realize that God is the only One who can fully satisfy the hunger within us.
