There are so many great lessons in Proverbs 14. Many of these verses really challenge me to walk more uprightly before my King. Here are some of the verses that stand out to me in this chapter.
“Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.” (7)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
This is one of my favorite verses that Jesus spoke in the sermon on the mount. It speaks to the truth inside all of us. We all hunger for something beyond what anything in this world can satisfy. At times we might try to satisfy that hunger with temporary things or people, but eventually we come to realize that God is the only One who can fully satisfy the hunger within us.
He sent His Son to be the bread of life, to renew a relationship with us. He is the living water, ready to quench the thirst of our souls on a daily basis. It’s time to go back to the fountain and draw from the source of living water. On this earth, we will have moments of hunger and thirst, which can only be satisfied in God alone through His Word.
There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. (Proverbs 21:30)
