I Wonder
To him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever. (Psalm 136:4)
The Lord is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
Have you experienced the power of Jesus name? Have you called on the Lord lately? Sometimes, I think we forget the power that can be harnessed by calling on God. We forget who God is and the vast character He possesses. Is this you? Have you forgotten who God is for you? Let’s take a look at some of the names used to describe God in the Word. Let’s call upon the Lord and find the comfort that only He can give.
1. My Healer
“Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” ~Psalm 103:2-3
2. My Redeemer
“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.” ~Job 19:25
May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. O Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow. (Psalm 144:1-4)
