Full of Hope

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Your Presence is Heaven to Me

The LORD replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ (Exodus 33:14)

My prayer for you today is that you will find rest in God’s presence.  May you find strength as He lifts you up.  May your hope be restored as God renews your vision.  May God’s peace truly guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.  May you never worry of what’s to come or how bad the storm of life will get.  May you only rest in knowing that God is for you, always for you…  and because of this there is no one who can stand against you. Time to Wake Up

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

I cannot tell you how many times I have looked at this verse and asked myself, “will this be true of me some day.”  I believe with my whole heart that we can’t wait until tomorrow to start living out this verse.  We have to live it out today!  You can’t wait until next year to concern yourself about the kind of legacy you will leave behind because you’re not guaranteed next year.  You might not even be guaranteed next week, or tomorrow.  That’s not supposed to be a sad thought, it’s supposed to be your “good morning” wake up call!  It’s time to wake up and start living for God in a way that will show people you are running a marathon, not a 100-yard dash.  Will you be able to say you fought a good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith?  Let’s run the race together and finish well!

Persistent Widow

Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. He said, “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people. A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated. Protect me!’

“He never gave her the time of day. But after this went on and on he said to himself, ‘I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think. But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice—otherwise I’m going to end up beaten black-and-blue by her pounding.’”

Then the Master said, “Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying? So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won’t he stick up for them? I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?”  ~Luke 18:1-8 (MSG)
