Content or Discontent

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:11-13)

Reflecting the Father

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. (1 Thessalonians  4:11-12)

Make it your AMBITION:

1.  To lead a quiet life ~ we should all consider it an honor to live for God.  May the actions we live out daily speak of our Lord and Saviour.  In quietness, there is strength.  Be aware of your actions, as each one does speak loudly of the one you serve.  Serve in love moment by moment, breath by breath. Our actions often speak louder than our words.  What are your actions saying to those who are around you?

In the Refiner’s Fire

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver… (Malachi 3:3)

Today, I am taking some of my devotional from an email my husband received.  He read it to me and I knew it was a perfect way to start the week.  I pray it touches you, as it has touched me.  Here it is:

The above verse puzzled a group in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.  One of them offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

My True Identity

Showing Compassion

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3:22-24)

On this earth we experience many great loves in many different forms, but the truth is the GREATEST LOVE of all comes through God.  Because of His love given to us on a daily basis, we do not have to be consumed by the world’s madness.  God’s love doesn’t fail us!  It never let’s go.  It never gives up on us.  It sees through all our flaws.  His love remains steadfast even through the moments that we are unsteady in our walk with the Lord.
