The Priceless Journey

My Eternal Resume

God Truth Bible Mercy Righteousness

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

What’s God doing in your life?

This is my favorite question to ask when I meet up with someone. I absolutely love celebrating what God is doing. How has He been faithful to you?  Did He answer a prayer?  Did He show up in an unexpected way in your life?  Did He supply your needs in a new way?  I would love to hear all about it.

God has done a lot in my life.  I have watched Him be extremely faithful, answer some prayers, teach me to forgive again and again, help me to love in new ways, and so much more.  He is quite amazing!  In fact, this last month God has really been working on me regarding what my Eternal Resume looks like.  That’s right!  I remember back in 2011, prior to kids I was preparing for two reunions and I started to think, “What do I have to show for?  What will I have to say when I’m asked those famous questions?”  I was going down a never-ending road, but God caught me.  He showed me that my Earthly Resume isn’t worth much.  It will collect dust and fade away in time.  But all the things I do for His glory and honor will last for eternity!  All the things that can go on an Eternal Resume never fade away.

So here are a list of questions I’m asking myself almost daily, as I focus on what my Eternal Resume will look like for my Savior and King!

My Eternal Resume will not look like the things we gather on this earth.  I’m seeking something that’s bigger!  I want to know that I left my mark.  That I shared Jesus in every possible way to everyone I come in contact with.  Not just with my words, but much more so with my actions.  May my actions speak of a love greater than this world can offer.  May my actions reflect the joy I have found in Jesus.  May my actions show the abundant peace I have in a God who never fails!

This is my prayer!  May this be my Eternal Resume!

Challenge:  Read Matthew 6:19-24, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8

Apply the Word:  What does your Eternal Resume look like?  How can you add to your Eternal Resume this week?

Memory Verse:  Matthew 6:19-21

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13:1)

Dear Father God, I simply pray that You will help me focus on all the things I can do to build an Eternal Resume for Your glory!  Please examine my actions and my words daily!  Help me to see any area in my life that is not glorifying to You or demonstrating Your love!
