Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)
This is just one of the verses I enjoy starting my day with. I determined a little while ago that before I open my eyes to what the day has, I will choose to be joyful over my day. I will choose to find joy in my experiences. I will choose to find joy in the tough times. I will choose to find joy even when what God’s doing doesn’t make sense to me! I choose to have a joyful day!
Why don’t you try this out and see if it works for you? Tomorrow morning, before you open your eyes to a brand new day. Repeat two or three verses of joy to yourself. Declare that you will have joy in the day that God has provided for you! Here are a few verses to get you started.
“This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
“…for the joy of the Lord is my strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight…” (Psalm 43:4)
“…yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” (Habakkuk 3:18)
I challenge you to take 2 or 3 of these verses and say them in the morning, for 7 days. Don’t open your eyes quite yet! Repeat these verses of joy and believe that God wants to give you a joyful experience throughout your day! Let me know how it goes! I would love to hear how this transforms your week!
Dear Father God, I pray that this will be a joy filled week. Help me to remember to claim joy for my life every morning! May my thoughts start with You! May my day begin rejoicing in Your goodness! I choose to be joyful!
Looking forward to my Joyful Jumpstart,
