Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
I heard a story on the radio the other day that really challenged me. I would like to share it with you and see how God can use it in your life.
There was an 80 year old missionary who was bed ridden. For many years, he had served in China as a missionary. One day, someone came to visit him. The visitor expressed that he was sorry the missionary couldn’t be in China. This was the missionary’s response…
“When I pray, all of China shakes!”
This got me to thinking. What happens when I pray? Does anything shake? Do I truly believe that God can change circumstances? Do I trust that He will? Matthew 17:20 says,
“…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
The truth is that NOTHING is impossible, if we have faith in God. Do you have faith that God can move a mountain in your life? What are you praying will shake loose in your own life? Are you praying for your family? Are you praying for someone’s salvation? Are you praying for your community? Are you praying for the coming election? Are you praying for this country? Whatever it is that you are praying for… Have faith that God can do the impossible!
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

Dear Father God, I offer up my prayer requests to you. I know You know my heart and the burdens that I carry there. I pray that salvation will come near for those I dearly care about. I pray that this country will go in Your direction. I pray for my family and those who are hurting. May You come into our lives and shake things up. May we see some mountains move!
