The True Genius Bar
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. (Psalm 68:19)
Have you ever felt like you are troubleshooting with your life? I certainly have. A troubleshooter is “a person skilled at solving or anticipating problems or difficulties (Webster’s Dictionary).” And I should be clear that I feel more like the first part of this definition, a person becoming skilled at solving problems. I can’t anticipate them very often, but they frequently come. Let me give you some examples just in this last month… The air conditioner broke down, the refrigerator door wouldn’t shut, the computer stopped working, my phone took a swim, the roof had a leak, and numerous other things have come up. Each one God has helped Paul and I solve one by one.
I have to admit the one that was easiest to solve was my phone. I took my phone to the “Genius Bar” at the Apple Store. They were happy to tell me that indeed my phone had been water logged. Then they proceeded to help me replace my phone. Well, ever since then I have been thinking about how nice it is to know the Real Genius. The One who has the answers to all of our problems. The Genius Bar at the Apple Store claims to have all the technical answers for you, but this is only regarding your Apple products. What about the rest of life’s questions, problems, and difficulties? Are you in contact with the Real Genius? If not, feel free to step up to God’s Genius Bar.
The True Genius Bar
How do I reserve time with the True Genius?
The good news for you today is God does not require reservations. He is available all day, every day and He looks forward to His time with you.
Who works at the True Genius Bar?
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will be working together on your behalf. They know everything about you and are able to equip you for whatever you face. You are not alone!
“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” ~John 14:26
“He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness, by his wounds you have been healed.” ~1 Peter 2:24
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” ~John 3:16
God loved us enough to send His Son for our sins, to redeem us, so we can spend eternity in Heaven. Jesus bore our sins on the cross and now we can come to Him daily with the things that wound our hearts, souls, and bodies. The Holy Spirit continues to guide us through the Word of God. We are comforted, loved, and forgiven. What more could you truly ask for from the Genius Bar? This is what you are given when you come to the One who knows you best!
What do I need to bring?
Yourself. Just bring all that is weighing you down. Bring your sins and lay them down at the cross. If you have yet to hand your life over to Jesus, then this is the time to start. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and make things new. Ask Him to take the sin that has caused you to stumble and help you to walk in a new direction. He wants to help you make a change. Here is a devotional for you to read Your Table is Ready
For those of you who have something else weighing on your heart, come bring it to God. He is the Genius on duty and He wants to take care of the thing that’s occupying space in your heart and mind. He did not design you to take care of your own problems. He will be waiting for you.
What can I expect?
You can expect freedom from bondage, joy instead of sorrow, love instead of judgment, understanding, a listening ear, peace, grace, mercy, and so much more that God wants to freely give to you when you just come!
