My New Blessing

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16)

On June 18th, God gave us one more blessing.  His name is Gabriel Luke.  He was born at 3:18pm.  He was 7 pounds and 20.5 inches.  Our family of three became a family of four.  We are so grateful to God for entrusting us with Gabriel’s precious life.

Redefining Success

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24)

A few weeks ago when I received the news that I would have a book signing at LifeWay, I thought wow now I feel like I’m an author.  It was a beautiful place thinking that God was rewarding my efforts for writing.  I walked around thanking God all day.  But in one moment, one moment with my son.  One precious moment when he wrapped his little arm around me, which is what he is doing in this picture…  in that moment that was true success!

Big Brother

My sweet little boy is going to be 2 years old on Saturday, May 16th.  I thought a perfect way to celebrate his two years of life is to write about him and the many lessons that God has taught me through him.  So this week I will be focusing on my son Zion and the beautiful gift he has been to me.  Before I continue, I thought it’s only fitting to also announce that we are expecting a little brother for Zion in June.

Rock and Sway

My precious boy Zion turned 10 months old yesterday!  These last 10 months have been filled with incredible joy and many opportunities to learn something new from my Heavenly Father.  I’m still amazed that God has entrusted me with the gift of my little boy.  His sweet developments daily fascinate me.  I’m blessed beyond belief. The Sweetest Six Months

Today is my son’s 6 month birthday!  I look back at these 6 months and find tremendous joy in the gift God has given me.  I’m still blown away that God entrusted me with such a sweet blessing.  I look at Zion and watch him grow.  I treasure each moment that I’ve been given with him.  I continue to hear from those around me that this time goes too fast.  But I’m thinking I want it to go just right…  I want to enjoy the moments I’ve been given with Zion.  I want to celebrate every little thing he does, every little grimace he makes, every sound he speaks, every little giggle, all the little movements, each new first, and every smile.
