Love Beyond Measure

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Annie Johnson Flint has a remarkable story of her love for God and her dedication to live her life for Him during some very difficult times. I encourage you to read Annie’s story. Annie did not let the difficult things of life weigh her down. She did not give up hope, she never gave into circumstances, and she always knew God would see her through. Her poems can be found at Blessed Quietness. And her story can be found at the following link Annie’s Biography. I promise that you will not be wasting your time by checking out either link or both. I tend to go back to Annie’s poems as often as possible and I am encouraged by her steady stand in the Lord. She did not waiver. The poem below reminds us that God’s grace is enough! His grace will always be enough. May you stand in that Truth today!

He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy;
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
His pow’r has no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

God’s love has NO limit. His grace has NO measure. His power has NO boundary known to men. We are living for the One, True, all powerful God who has no limits, no measure for His grace, and no boundaries to His power in our lives! These very words should make us excited that we serve a God who cares. We are serving the only One who matters! God has cared about you before it even mattered to you. There was a day you weren’t even thinking about it and neither was I, but God was. God has always been thinking about you and loving you. He’ll never stop! Child you are His! His grace abounds for you and it is more than sufficient for you!

Dear Father God, Thank You for reminding me that I am Yours and Your grace is enough for me. I don’t understand a lot of things, but I do understand that Your grace will be enough for me! I’m so glad that Your power knows no limits, Your grace no measure, and Your love no end.

The Earth is Mine

Then God said, “Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26)

Yes, I’m sure you have heard this verse before and many times at that.  But maybe it’s time to go back to the beginning.  The place where there was no sin.  A place where only God and man existed.  A place where man was able to enjoy sweet fellowship with God and not have any interruptions.  A place where there were no excuses, no cell phones, no business meetings, no traffic, no illness, no financial strain, no loss of jobs, no house payment due, no one to distract you from simply remembering that the Creator made you in His image.

WOW!  That very thought amazes me!  God did not have to make us in His image.  His image is so beautiful and so indescribable.  Why would He create me to mirror His image?  There is only one answer to that.  He created me to glorify Him.  Everything He did, He did well!

Promise of Comfort

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. (Psalm 18:2-3)

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my refuge, and my strength.  In all of this I receive comfort.  No one can give me greater comfort than the Lord.  The Lord’s arms are always open to me.  He is always ready to love me.  He is my Father.  The One who holds and knows all of my tears (Psalm 56:8).  The One who soothes my aching heart with the balm of His presence.  God is truly my comfort!  I run to Him and I am safe.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 66:13)

Potter’s Wheel

Yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)

This verse presents a magnificent picture when you take the time to think about it.  Sure a clump of clay is just a clump of clay, until the potter goes to work on it.  Imagine what the Grand Canyon would have looked like without God going to work on it. He designed every inch.  Or think of Niagara Falls, a splendid display of water gushing in all it’s glory.  What about the Great Barrier Reef? Read more

Daddy, Daddy

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

This week, I want to share something near and dear to my heart with you. I want to share some chapters from my book Life’s Compass for Eternal Treasure. The second edition of this book was released on June 24th this year, but due to the craziness of life I have not been able to share it with you. This new edition includes a great study guide that you can use as an individual or with a group. To celebrate the new release of this book, I will be doing a BOGO sale. If you can show me proof of purchase for one book, I will send you one for a friend. There are a few ways you can purchase books. The easiest way to get the BOGO sale is to purchase straight from my personal bookstore. If you would rather purchase from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or any other online bookstore that is fine too. Please just send me an email with proof of purchase and your address and I will be happy to send you a book for a friend.
