Pulling Back the Curtain

Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops. (Luke 12:1-3, NASB)

Lord, please show me where I am being hypocritical.  Help me to see where I am judging others and need to look more closely at my own sin.  Please convict me of my sins quickly and thoroughly.

Lord, I pray that I will compare myself to You and no one else.  May I not look for the accolades this world can give, but may I quietly live my life surrendered to You and Your purpose.

Lord, I pray that my public life will only mirror what my private life is.  May my life reveal a heart in the Word, a steadfast spirit, and a hunger for the things of You.  I pray that if someone were to pull back the curtain in my life, that all they would see is a life submitted to You.

I pray that if the walls in my home could speak that they would only speak of who You are and the transformation You daily perform in my life.  Please help me live a more honorable life before You, O Lord!

Read more on this in Luke 12:1-12.
