God Guidance Promise Jesus Bible

Promise of Guidance

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end. (Psalm 48:14)

I love that God promises to be our guide “even to the end“.  This God is my God.  This is the God that I serve.  My God will guide me through the darkest hours of life.  He will guide me through the muck and  mire of this world.  He will set my feet upon the Rock that is higher than I.  His guidance will forever be mine as I walk the many trails this life offers me.

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  (Joshua 1:9)

Many times God’s guidance is a mystery to me.  I look ahead as I walk the trail He has before me but I can’t always see around the corner.  Rarely can I tell what’s coming next.  I have no way to brace myself for what’s to come at times no matter how well prepared I am.  But with God’s guidance I don’t have to fear the future.  I don’t have to live a minute in despair or discouragement.  God sees ahead.  He knows what’s around the next corner and He promises me that “He will be with me wherever I go.”  He doesn’t leave me even when I find myself wondering off the path.  He faithfully waits for me and lovingly beckons me back.  I will be strong and courageous as I depend on the Lord’s guidance and go where He leads me.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21)

There is one thing that can keep me from the Lord’s guidance.  That one thing is an unyielding spirit.  I need to tune in to what God’s saying.  Sometimes I need to take out a spiritual Q-tip from God’s Word and clean my ears out so I can hear Him better.  My ears get plugged by the sounds of this world and how they would like to guide me.  Their guidance is foolish and often leads me in circles, but when I clean my ears out and tune in to the Holy Spirit… I can hear His sweet voice telling me, “This is the way; walk in it.”  God will never force me to listen to Him,  but my life will be better if I choose to yield to His direction and His purpose for my life.

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

Dear Father God, I pray that my steps will be ordered by You.  May I not move forward without Your guidance.  May I stop to listen more often and respond to Your sweet voice.  Please clean out my spiritual ears that I may better hear from the Holy Spirit.  I pray that my life will be one of complete surrender to You and that I will abandon my desires, my will, and my plan… So that I can experience the perfect plan of You, my Father!

Lovingly Yours,
