Number One Book
I’m still in the mood to celebrate the number one and it’s meaning in my life. I am now 6 days from my one year anniversary with my husband. It’s amazing to think how quickly a year can pass. God has been so very good to us!
Another thing that certainly has consistently remained number one in my life is the book I like to study, even in this last year! This last year, I have taken time to study books on marriage, books on my relationship with God, books on my writing skills, books for the writing I want to do, even books for fun. I have read all sorts of books, but nothing comes close to the BIBLE. The Bible still is the number one book in my life that I enjoy studying. The words jump of the page at me and I can’t wait to read it. It’s always so inviting and invigorating with stories that pursue my heart with God’s grace. It’s amazing how timeless it can be and how it’s words can penetrate my soul.
Here are just some of the words that breathe life into my being day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year!
“With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?” (Psalm 18:29-31)
I’m so glad I don’t have to be perfect. Instead, God is perfect and through His Word I can seek to be flawless through His Son!
“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5)
“Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” (John 3:20-21)
This is so exciting to me. I want to live in the light. I want my ugliness to be exposed, so I can live a better life for God. It’s exciting to think that life can get even better when we live by God’s Truth. His standards are not too high, they are just right!
“Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (1 Peter 2:11-12)
More exciting news for those who believe in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We are just strangers on this earth. We’re not here to stay. I think that’s great and I want to make sure that I live every day letting people know who my Savior is!
May you find a verse or passage of scripture to celebrate in today!
