Never Give Up
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
Are you facing the impossible? Are you tempted to give up? I have talked to a few different people this last week who are facing what they think is impossible. My heart aches for them and I pray that their eyes will soon get fixed on the Lord who never sees anything as an impossibility.
I don’t know what your impossible is but can I remind you that you’re in good company. David faced the impossible when he went to slay a giant with just five smooth rocks and a slingshot in hand. Daniel faced the impossible when he was thrown in a lion’s den and all he was armed with was prayer. The Israelites faced the impossible as they looked at the massive Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them. Hannah faced the impossible with a barren womb. Joshua asked for the impossible when he asked for the sun to stand still. Gideon faced the impossible with a small army. The truth is their impossibles became the avenue for God to do some of His greatest work.
Your impossible is just a segway into something extraordinary with the Lord! Don’t give up! God will come through. You can trust Him. You can know that He is for you, always for you and “He who is in you is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).”
This week may you face the impossible with renewed vision, a fresh perspective, and arm yourself in the strength of the Lord! God is at work. I can guarantee you that and He’s not giving up until He has finished what He began in you (Philippians 1:6). Let’s face the impossible with courage knowing that God has a purpose through it all!
Dear Father God, Please help me remember that nothing is impossible with you. When I feel like giving up please help me to shift my eyes back to You and Your promises. May I trust that the work You are doing is greater than I can imagine and as long as You are on my side I have nothing to fear.
