Let the World Know
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live and in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:3-4)
This Scripture passage has meant a lot to me over the last few years and today it was a fresh reminder of God’s faithfulness to me. His love truly is better than life and with every breath I take, I hope I can praise Him to the best of my ability. I want to glorify the One who knows me best, the One who daily gives me new moments to live out.
It is always such a blessing to read God’s Word and be refreshed by the contents I find inside. This Psalm has continued to be like a refreshing spring of water that I find myself making weekly trips to get my dose from. My hope is that you will write it down and apply each word to memory. Please allow God to use the words of this passage to minister to your heart and refresh your soul.
BECAUSE…
The question that often preceeds this is, WHY? The only answer you need from God is BECAUSE, yet He goes so much further into the richness of words to refresh your soul. The next time you’re asking God why; listen to this response in the Word of God and hear the love that pours out after the word “Because…”
…Your love is better than life…
One look into David’s life and you will find that things were not too easy for him. He was faced with many difficulties. He ran for his life when he was young, he lost his best friend to death, he fought many battles in war, he dealt with the pressures of being king, commanded an army, fell under temptation, he drew distant from God, needed to surrender daily to God, had dry spells with God, and continued to walk with God throughout his life. It was a daily walk, a moment by moment walk and God called him a man after his own heart for the walk that David led. David exclaimed that God’s love was better than life. Is God’s love better than life for you? Are you surrendering the details to God, knowing that He will faithfully come through?
…my lips will glorify you…
David’s desire was that his lips would glorify the Lord. Are your lips glorifying the Lord? It’s quite easy to glorify the Lord on Sunday with our friends and family in church, but it’s a whole different story when it comes to the work place. Or is it? I pray it isn’t because it shouldn’t be. I have had some tremendous opportunities in the places I have worked to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Your lips should consistently glorify God all throughout the week and your actions should follow what you are learning on Sunday.
…I will praise you as long as I live…
Can you make a declaration like this, no matter what you will face in life? Will you get as excited for God, as you are on Sunday for the football game or during the week for the latest sports game? Will you get as enthusiastic for the things of God as you are about the latest bands, trends, trinkets, etc.? Will you show as much passion for God as you show for your country when it comes to politics? It’s all up to you! Praise Him and praise Him well, praise Him with all your life, as long as you live!
…and in your name I will lift up my hands.
There is only One name that deserves to be lifted on high, only One that you should be lifting your hands high for… His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I pray you celebrate the One who has given you eternal life and if you have yet to know of this great life I am speaking about, please read more about it in “Table for Two.”
God’s love truly is better than life. His love makes life possible through His Son. We are without excuse! May we live each day celebrating all that we have in God and never let the world celebrate more, celebrate louder, or sound happier than us. We have so much in God and we need to be the one’s to let the world know!
Dear Father God, I pray that You will me continue to celebrate the life You have given me through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I’m so blessed to have Your love in my life and pray that I will be used to help others know who You are in every possible way.
