Keeping Christ in Christmas
The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel–which means, “God with us.” (Matthew 1:23)
Here is love, that God sent His Son,
His Son who never offended,
His Son who was always His delight.
Here in is love, that He sent Him to save sinners;
to save them by bearing their sins,
by bearing the curse,
by dying their death,
and by carrying their sorrows.
Here is love, in that while we were yet enemies,
Christ died for us;
yes, here is love,
in that while we were yet without strength,
Christ died for the ungodly.
~John Bunyan
This is the love we celebrate at Christmas! A love that pushed through the boundaries! A love that made the biggest sacrifice for us! A love that defied human logic! A love that surrendered itself to death, that we might experience life! I pray this Christmas we will have an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with all those we come in contact with! Let’s shed light on the True meaning of Christmas. An event that started a revolution! A spectacular moment that changed the course of history. What will you celebrate this Christmas? Will people experience the love of our Savior through you?
Dear Father God, I take this moment to celebrate the life of Your Son. The One life that changed the course of history. Sometimes I still can’t believe that He was born in a manger, suffered and died for my sins, and was resurrected that I might experience a relationship with You my Father! Lord, may this Christmas be a time to celebrate the moment that You came near.
