God is faithful devotional

Indescribable Love

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” (Psalm 36:5-9)

GOD’S LOVE

~It reaches to the heavens! It knows no limits.  We cannot reach up and touch the sky.  Sure we can get on an airplane and fly through the sky,  but even then we’re never able to touch the edge of the sky.  Astronauts go into space to see more of the marvelous creation God has created.  They see the earth from afar and study the galaxy, but yet they do not touch the edge of space.  Are you beginning to grasp God’s indescribable love yet?  David said that God’s love reaches to the heavens.  We cannot even begin to grasp how deep, how wide, and how much God loves us!  He gives us terms that are beyond our comprehension because He wants to make a point, His love will always be greater than our mind can comprehend.

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

~It reaches to the skies! David is not even trying to come up with descriptive words that fit our small comprehension.  He knows that God is far superior to anything we can conceive of in our little minds.  God created our minds and in our minds there is not enough space to understand the great faithfulness of God.  God will be faithful to us, not because we are deserving on our own merit.  He is faithful to us due to His mercy through His Son Jesus Christ.  We will never deserve His faithfulness, but we will continue to be recipients of it, as long as we continue to live our lives conforming to His will and not our own.  The challenge that Paul gives in Romans 12:2 clearly let’s us know where our conformity needs to be…

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Try memorizing this verse in the coming week.  It will change the way you think and the way you live.  It’s a very important verse to live by.  Keep it available wherever you are!

GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

~It is like the mighty mountains! It is unshakable!  Unmovable!  No one can take away God’s righteousness from you.  When you choose to live inside God’s righteousness, you can remain steady like Mount Everest.  You will be unmoving like the tallest mountain you’ve seen or ever climbed.  God is not intimidated by anything of this world!  He is strong enough for any battle and will always be there to overcome your enemies.  Walk in Him and you will be an overcomer in this world!

GOD IS LIFE

~God is a fountain of life! Death came through sin in the Garden of Eden, but life came through Jesus Christ.

*Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  ~John 14:6

*Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ ~Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.  Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.  ~Romans 5:11-13

GOD’S LIGHT

~In His light we see light! The closer we get to God, the more the darkness inside of us is revealed.  God is light and when we live identifying ourselves with Him we are exposed to His light.  Being exposed to God’s light is great because the darkness slowly slips away.  The more we see things in the light of God, the better we become.  Our character grows in God as we walk directly towards Him.  It’s okay to acknowledge the ugliness inside of ourselves and bring it to God.  In fact the verses before and after this passage of scripture, David is talking to God about his enemy.  He’s exposing himself to God.  Letting Him know where he is at.  You see David is always real with God.  His prayers consist of praises, concerns, crying, despair, laughing, dancing, joy, words against the enemy, and much, much more.  David didn’t hold back and he was called a man after God’s own heart.  Don’t be afraid to bring everything God.  He can handle it.  The more you bring, the lighter your load will be and the brighter your light will shine.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

Dear Father God, I pray that You will help me understand the height of Your love and that I may give Your love in a real way to those who are around me.  May I understand Your faithfulness in a much more real way and learn to be more faithful to You!  Please help me to live righteously before you with my life and the light that I shine.  I pray You will expose the areas of my life that need to be redefined and conformed to Your likeness!

Desiring More of You,
