Humble Mindset

Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]…

Oh, that I might follow the example of Christ.  Lord, I desire to have this attitude that I see You had as You took Your journey towards the cross.  Please show me where my attitude and purpose is not pleasing in Your sight  And help me align myself to this humble mindset!

Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

Lord, no matter how many times I read this passage… it still blows me away.  Thank You for humbly taking my place. 

But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. 

Lord, thank You for taking on the appearance of a servant for my sake.  Thank You for living a perfect life and for being the perfect sacrifice for my sins!

And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! 

Lord, thank You for taking on death and for being victorious over it.  Thank You Jesus for being obedient to the Father, even though it meant death.  And no ordinary death, but death on a cross.  Thank You for dying for me! 

Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,

Lord, I live to lift up Your name.  I live to give You glory!  You took my place on the cross, now I pray I can live the rest of my life showing You that I’m so very grateful!

That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Lord, please help me to bring this message to all those who have yet to confess Jesus as their Lord.  May I take this seriously and may I help others understand their need for a Savior!

And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ~Philippians 2:5-11 (AMP)

Jesus You are Lord!  Lord of my life!  Please be Lord over my heart, my thoughts, my attitude, and my every day life.  Please have Your way in me!  I pray that I will be used to advance Your purpose.
