Holy Action

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.’ (1 Peter 1:13-15)

This verse reminds me that I am called to take action.  Every day I’m given a new opportunity to move forward in the Lord.  It’s always my choice!  I can live in yesterday and miss out on today or I can faithfully move forward into all that God has for me.  I choose to move forward.  I choose to live today for what matters.  Praying that my eyes will ever be focused on Jesus and that I will live to make an eternal difference in this world.

Here’s my action plan for today…

Prepare: Today is a new day.  Set aside the things of yesterday and resolve to be actively involved in God size tasks today.

Practice: Self-control.  Don’t be irrational or out of control.  Let your hope be in the One whose grace has been poured out on you in abundance.  Then share that with those you come in contact with today.

Plan: Be obedient.  Live a holy life.  To the best of your ability choose wisely today.  Make decisions that will impact eternity in a positive way.  Remember, you only get to live today once!

Prayer: Lord, please prepare my mind to be actively involved in all the moments you’ve created for me today.  Help me to practice self-control in everything I do, as I remember I’m a reflection of You everywhere I go.  May I continually become more obedient to You and Your desires for my life.  Please melt away anything in me that is not holy and help me to become more like Christ with every step I take.
