God’s Beautiful Design

He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11, AMP)

A few months ago my husband and I were able to get away for a couple nights to Niagara Falls. It was so beautiful. One of those places that leaves you in awe of God’s majesty. It was truly incredible! While there, we visited a butterfly conservatory. This place left me in awe of God’s design.

God has a beautiful design on each one of our lives. No detail is left out. As we entered the conservatory, I had no idea what I was in for. We stepped into a haven of beauty, I was in awe once again. But this was a different kind of awe. I looked at the details of each butterfly truly amazed by God’s design. Every detail, every color, every dot, and every line on every beautiful butterfly left me amazed.

Each one of those butterflies was beautiful in it’s own way. God specifically designed each one to glorify Him. That’s what our lives are, a beautiful design of His handy work. Every detail of you and I was intricately woven in our mother’s womb. Every day ordained before one of them came to be.

My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being formed in secret, and intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were appointed for me, when as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape]. (Psalm 139:15-16, AMP)

Just as I looked at the butterflies and thought to myself, “How incredible!” God so looks at me and you and sees something amazing. He sees who we are in Christ and the colors that He wants to bring out in our lives. You and I are designed by the Great Designer. No expense was spared when it came to designing who you would be.

This week, let’s serve the Lord with purpose. Let’s choose to see the colors He so brilliantly weaved into our lives. May each one of us find the beauty of who we are in Christ and live to glorify the King.

Dear Father God, I stand in awe of who You are and how You took the time to make me who I am. Lord, may I truly appreciate Your beautiful design on my life and live to bring You praise.
