God Size Love
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because GOD IS LOVE.
This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that HE LOVED US and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:7-12, 19)
God’s LOVE…
It’s amazing and awe inspiring. We have yet to understand it. Yet, we so often leave it in the dust to search after our own dreams and our desires. I want to learn to juggle the things that are important and lose the things that have no importance.
In one show I heard it said, “A man had to cross a bridge that would only hold 200 hundred pounds. He himself was 190 pounds and was carrying three boxes that weighed 5 pounds each. How did he make it across and what did each of the things represent? Well, he juggled the three boxes. The bridge represented his life and the boxes were his feelings of love, joy, peace, pain, etc.” He learned how to juggle these things through his life so he could get across instead of getting crushed by the weight of it all.
Well, I want to go one step better than this. We have a God who can teach us how to juggle the right things at the right moments in time. First of all, we need to remember that we are not living on our own time… we ARE living on GOD’s TIME… So why do we wake up each morning with an agenda that leaves no room for mystery and no room for God to intervene. Why do we leave Him out? HE created time! HE created you and I. He knows the hairs on our heads, yet, we leave Him out in the cold.
I want to live on God’s time. What does He desire from me from each moment of each day and how can I attain to live in such a way that He gets the most out of each moment that I live? I have a long ways to go before I learn this. But this is what I desire.
I desire to know about the only love that matters in this world. The love that makes it possible for me to love others. God’s love is more than I can comprehend at times and much more than I deserve, but He has made it available through His Son. I pray you will come to know God’s love in greater ways and experience His grace. Remember, we love because He FIRST LOVED us.
Dear Father God, I pray Your love will be evident in my life. May I be loving in my words and my actions towards others.
