Partnering with a Psychology Class

The Priceless Journey has been given a tremdendous opportunity to share the heart behind our book You are Priceless with a Pscychology class at Biola University. They currently use the book to better understand the mind of those who have been or are being trafficked. We are beyond thrilled to work with Laura Dryjanska, Assistant Professor of Psychology to equip and mobilize students to become part of the solution to end human trafficking. Human trafficking class is an elective class for graduate students at Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. The mission of Rosemead School of Psychology is to produce graduates who can integrate the science and practice of psychology with Christian theology, and who are prepared to meet the psychological needs of the world in general and the Christian community specifically through professional service and scholarship. 

The human trafficking class features diverse aspects of human trafficking, with an emphasis on the latest research on psychological factors, trauma, and treatment of victims. It introduces the phenomenon of modern slavery from a national and international perspective, discussing sex trafficking, prostitution, forced labor, child slavery, as well as the role of the media and ways of providing effective services to victims. The course pays attention to the physical, psychological, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of survivors. It also features key dynamics of human trafficking, taking into account victims, traffickers, recruiters, facilitators, and consumers.
