Bountiful Joy

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

Live It Out

I absolutely love this verse and the feeling it provokes in my heart. I don’t think you can read this verse without experiencing a burst of joy. The words captivate me and describe a beautiful picture to me.

Today, I can go about my day in joy and be led by God’s peace. That’s incredible! It doesn’t matter what yesterday looked like, how I fumbled through it, and how I barely survived it. Today is a brand-new day! Today I can burst forth with song because I know that my Redeemer lives. He lives in me! His joy is mine!

I can climb the heights of today and crawl through the barren lands, knowing that God is with me. His peace is mine! He promises to give me new mercies for today. I take every new mercy that the Lord gives me and choose to walk out today with joy. I will have bountiful joy because of God’s amazing work in me.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22–23)

Pray It Through

Dear Father God, thank You for not counting yesterday against me. Thank You for this brand-new day with its brand-new mercies. I’m so blessed to have a new day in which I can celebrate You and rejoice in Your great faithfulness!
